Bill Gates and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will host a special celebration of the human rights movement in partnership with The Human Rights Campaign.
The event, scheduled to take place on February 24, will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Washington, D.C. The Bill & M Gates Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1998 and based in Seattle, Washington.
Its main mission is to empower people worldwide to change the world for the better by advancing human rights.
In 2017, the Gates Foundation was named a Time Magazine 100 Global Thinkers, a recognition for its leadership and impact on the world.
The foundation also is a member of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a state-level, free-market-oriented lobby group.
Bill Gates will be one of the keynote speakers at the event.
“Bill and Melinda’s foundation has been an invaluable voice for millions of people worldwide,” said Steve Cohen, president and CEO of The Human Research Council.
“We are excited to celebrate the work of a powerful organization that has helped countless people and will continue to have a transformative impact.”
The event will also feature a special dinner reception and the launch of a new initiative called The Bill Gates Institute for Human Rights.
This initiative will help advance the Human Rights Platform, an effort to promote human rights around the world through the dissemination of policy, education, research, and advocacy.
The platform is currently focused on the United Nations, with Bill Gates as the main supporter and has included more than 100 countries, and will expand into a broad network of allies around the globe.
The Global Agenda for Human Right and Democracy initiative, which will be the subject of the celebration, will support the promotion of human-rights principles and principles of democracy.
“The Bill & T Gates Foundation has an unparalleled record of delivering positive change in the world,” said Nita Bokova, Executive Director of The Bill and Melissa Gates Foundation.
“Through our work, we have helped millions of human beings live better lives, create more wealth, and ensure their futures are more secure.
We are proud to host this event to mark a new chapter in the Bill Gates Human Rights Foundation’s history and recognize its importance.”
The Global Initiative for Human rights is a network of advocacy organizations focused on advancing human-right principles and democratic values worldwide.
